Cyclone Nilam hits Tamil Nadu, Andhra: Get Emergency numbers

Chennai, Oct 31: Cyclone Nilam has already made landfall at Mahabalipuram near Chennai in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, Oct 31. Marina beach at Chennai has been evacuated following the reports saying that an oil tanker has been capsized in the Bay of Bengal.

Mahabalipuram, 35-km away from Chennai, experienced heavy rainfall. The Weather department has said that there is possibility of Cyclone Nilam intensifying.

No major damage has been reported so far in Chennai. Curious people in the city spilled out on the roads to experience the cyclone. However, people in the coastal regions, both in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, have been asked to remain indoor.

School, colleges will be closed on Thursday. Police also informed about few emergency numbers available for 24X7 to help those who need any information or any help over cyclone Nilam.
