Afghanistan Map
Kabul, Oct 26: As devotees gathered to say their prayers at a mosque in northern Afghanistan, a bomb went off killing around 37 people and injuring several others on Friday, Oct 26.

Afghan Officials told TV channels that at least 37 people have been killed in the suicide bombing. However, casualty figure is likely to go up. The blast occurred in front of the mosque in Maymana city in Faryab province.

Worshippers had gathered at the mosque for prayers to mark the Eid al-Adha holidays. The provincial governor's spokesman Ahmad Jawed Baider told that police were among the victims, said a BBC report.

The attacker was wearing police uniform when he blew himself up, reports said.

Taliban is suspected to be behind the attack.
