Forbes's richest Indian list: Ambani beats Mittal and Premji

New Delhi, Oct 25: Indian business magnate Mukesh Ambani has once again reaffirmed his place as India's richest man. Reliance Industries Chairman Ambani is the country's richest man with a personal fortune of $21 billion, according to Forbes Magazine. Mukesh Ambani beats steel giant Lakshmi Mittal and Wipro head Azim Premji to top the Forbes's list.

Lakshmi Mittal has attained the second spot with $16 billion and the third spot goes to Azim Premji.

Pharma tycoon Dilip Shanghvi is the biggest gainer making an entry in the top 5 for the first time. Adi Godrej, the Hinduja Brothers and Kumar Birla are others in the top 10. India has a total of 61 billionaires with 4 more additions this year.

Earlier, a China-based research firm Hurun had conducted a survey to show who is the richest person in India. Reliance Industries Chairman Ambani had topped the list. Ambani was followed by Mittal, the supremo of steel magnate, Wipro Chairperson Premji and many others. Rupert Hoogewerf, the chief of the research firm, was quoted as saying, "The India Rich List tells the story of business in modern India."
