New Delhi, Oct 20: Thirty-five candidates appearing for the Common Admission Test (CAT) on Saturday at a centre in New Delhi had to return back without appearing for it, with testing agency Prometric blaming an "electrical malfunction" for the disruption.

Prometric said in a statement that the candidates will be provided with a new test appointment within the testing window as per their convenience.

According to it, 35 candidates could not appear for the test as "an electrical malfunction caused the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) at the Asia Pacific Institute of Management, New Delhi, to be damaged."

"Affected candidates will be provided with a new test appointment, as per their convenience," Managing Director of Prometric India, Soumitra Roy said. The test will continue till November 6. As many as 11,510 candidates had registered for the test on Saturday, the agency said.
