The defamation suit was filed for broadcasting a programme alleging that the trust run by Khurshid and his wife had siphoned off Rs 71 Lakh meant for disabled.

In her petition, which was filed on Thursday, Louise said that TV network had maligned the reputation of her family. She has sought damages worth Rs 1 crore. Court has given four weeks time to TV Today to reply back.

According to sting operation aired by TV Today, Khurshid's trust for disabled people had forged signatures to acquire central grants.

Earlier, members of India Against Corruption (IAC) accused Khurshid of indulging in corruption in the name of helping the disabled.

IAC member Arvind Kejriwal and his supporters are running a campaign and demanding the resignation of Khurshid following alleged financial irregularities in the functioning of the Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust.
