10 killed in suicide attack in northwest Pakistan

Islamabad, Oct 13: At least 10 people were killed on Saturday, Oct 13 when a suspected

bomber targeted an office of a pro-government milita in the restive Darra Adam Khel region of northwest

, police officials said.

A powerful explosion ripped through the office of the Aman committee in the central market of Darra Adam Khel.

Police officials said they believed that the office had been hit by a suicide bomber.

The wounded were rushed to a nearby hospital. No other details were immediately available.

No group has claimed responsibility.

The banned Pakistani Taliban had a strong presence in the Darra Adam Khel region till the army launched an operation to flush them out of the area in 2009.
