Infiltration-attempts: Shinde to visit Jammu and Kashmir

, Oct 10: Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde will visit

for two days beginning Saturday where he will take stock of the attempts of infiltration from across the border and prevailing security situation.

"To know the level of infiltration, I am visiting Jammu and Kashmir on Oct 13 where I will hold review meeting. I will visit Kashmir (Valley) as well as Jammu. I will visit border points also," he said at a press conference here.

Asked about recent attempts of infiltration, Shinde said, "We have information about infiltration and we also have information about cooperation between those who attempt infiltration in Punjab and those who attempt in Jammu and Kashmir."

This will be Shinde's first visit to Kashmir Valley and Jammu as Home Minister. Last week, he had visited Leh and Kargil.
