Gadkari urges farmers to vote out Congress

"Despite several programmes, basic problems of the people like poverty, unemployment, malnutrition have not been resolved as yet and farmers are living a pitiable life. To end all these problems, the Congress government should voted out," he told a farmers' rally organised by the BJP district unit.
He said that prices of paddy, cotton and other farm products have come down, while fertiliser prices have gone up. Farmers were committing suicide due to debt burden but the government does not seem to be worried at all.
"India has become a rich nation with poor people. The BJP wants to eradicate fear, hunger and corruption from this country. This is our mission and we will not rest until this mission is completed," he said.
He said that the BJP is committed to bring about good governance, social harmony, national reconstruction and wants to remove evils of the caste system.
"There will be no disparity on the basis of caste, religion or language in our rule. We want to introduce value based education, health for all, and use of science and technology for development," he said.
He promised to start the pending railway line, the Gosikhurd irrigation project and construction of barrages within two years if BJP comes to power. Reiterating his stand that he did not commit any mistake by writing letters to the prime minister and irrigation minister to release funds for Gosikhurd irrigation project, he said that similar letters have been written by Congress and NCP leaders like Praful Patel and Manikrao Thakre.
