LPG price hiked by Rs 11.42 per cylinder

Earlier, the distributors had sought a single price and a commission of Rs 65 per cylinder, the same that is available on commercial cylinder sale.
The National Federation of LPG Distributors of India, which claims to represent over 10,000 cooking gas sale agencies, had appealed to the government to put into effect a uniform pricing and allow transfer of subsidy to the potential beneficiaries.
According to the policy approved, ecah household will get six 14.2 kg LPG cylinders at a subsidised rate of Rs 399. The seventh cylinder would have to be bought at a market price, which is almost double the subsidised rate.
