14 killed, 6 injured in Karnataka road accident

Gulbarga, Oct 5: In a major road mishap, fourteen persons were killed and six others injured seriously when the jeep in which they were returning from a funeral and a lorry collided head-on in the district today, police said.

The victims hailing from Haranur village were returning after attending the funeral of one of their relatives at Mandewal.

Police are trying to retrieve bodies struck in the jeep due to impact of the collision which occurred near Jewargi, about 70 kms from here, this evening, police said.

The injured have been rushed to a hospital here.
