Mamata set to lead protest rally at Jantar Mantar

Senior TMC leader and former Union minister Saugata Roy said the government was burdening the common people in the name of reforms and his party did not support such a move. Mamata Banerjee was expected to address the rally at around 2 pm. All party leaders had already reached the venue.
Experts said, through this rally, Mamata was not only hijacking the Left's issue and project itself as the major opposition to the Centre but also make an effort to flex its muscle in the national capital.
Meanwhile, the Congress decided to hold a counter-rally in Kolkata to educate people against Mamata's allegedly spreading misconception about FDI in retail.
