Sikh woman, three children found dead in Brussels

Murder
Brussels, Sep 30: Four persons of Indian origin were murdered at their home in Etterbeek here on Sep 28. The victims hailed from Ludhiana in Punjab.

A Belgian TV channel reported that 37-year-old Jasbir Singh returned from the local restaurant where he has been working for the past one and half decades to see that his wife and three children were lying dead. The killer had slit their throats.

Jasbir told RTL TV that he tried to contact his wife more than once on Sep 28 but she did not pick up the phone. Anxious to find out what was the reason for the lack of response, Jasbir went home but found that the throats of his wife and chidren had been brutally slit.

"I did not understand what happened, how it happened. It was dark inside. I called, no one answered," Jasbir said. "When I turned on the lights, I saw blood everywhere. I immediately called the police," he added.

Investigations are on. Incidentally, Jasbir's neighbours averred that they have never seen him quarrelling with his wife who came here for the first time around five years ago.
