Jharkhand: 3 Rajdhani trains blocked by MLA's supporters

Amit Yadav who represents Parkatta constituency squatted on the tracks along with his supporters around 5 am, demanding that some express trains including the Mumbai-Howrah Express should have a stoppage at Parsabad railway station.
The MLA also urged that a reservation counter must be set up at Parsabad without delay. The protesters blocked the Sealdah Rajdhani at the station to highlight their demands.
Since the MLA's supporters were sitting on both the 'Up' and 'Down' tracks, the Howrah Rajdhani had to be halted at Sharmatand railway station while the Bhubaneswar Rajdhani was stranded at the Koderma railway station.
When mediapersons rushed to these stations on hearing about the rail roko, the protesters posed for pictures atop the engines of the three trains.
Quite a few trains which were running just behind the Rajdhanis had to be stopped at different places in Jharkhand. With the police failing to end the agitation, thousands of passengers were left with no option but to wait for their trains to move.
It was only after Railway officials assured the MLA's supporters that their demands will be given proper consideration that the latter withdrew. The tracks were finally cleared around 9 am.
The MLA had earlier said that it will be a 12-hour protest. Luckily for the affected passengers, he did not stick to that announcement.
