4-storeyed building collapses in Pune, 6 dead, many trapped

, Sept 24: A four-storeyed building collapsed at Sahakar Nagar area of Pune on Monday, Sept 24. Initial reports informed about three casualties but later death toll mounted to six.

At least 16 people were feared trapped under the debris. The incident occurred around 2 pm when the Somnath Building crashed down. According to sources, the building was residential in nature and under construction.

Reason behind the accident has not been revealed yet. Police and fire brigade officials rushed to the accident spot soon after receiving the news of collapse of the building.

Rescue operations are underway. Fire brigade officials pulled out at least ten injured people who were rushed to a near by hospital for treatment.
