Kerala: Five die as train rams into car at level crossing

Trivandrum, Sep 23: Five persons including a child were killed when a train dashed against the car in which they were travelling near the Aroor railway station today.

The Hapa-Thirunelveli Express, that was proceeding from Ernakulam towards Alappuzha, rammed into the TATA Indica (KL 32 C 276) at an unmanned level crossing around 2.45 p.m.

Sumesh (23) who was driving the ill-fated car died on the spot. The other victims are: Karthikeyan (70), Narayanan (65), Nelfin (3) and Chellappan.

The bodies have been taken to the Lakeshore Hospital in Cochin for post mortem.
