Pune BPO employee raped & killed:Death sentence for convicts

Mumbai, Sep 17: A 22-year-old BPO employee, who was

brutally in 2007, finally got justice on Monday, Sep 17 when the

upheld death sentences of two convicts.

The young BPO employee's body was found a day later her murder at Wadgaon, off the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, on the outskirts of Pune.

Purshottam Borate, the driver of her office cab along with his friend Pradip Kokate had raped and murdered the girl when she was on her way back home.

The culprits were working for a logistics company which used to supply vehicles to the call centre. While delivering his judgement,Justice Kanade said, "We are confirming the conviction. The trial court has not erred in convicting the two. But on sentencing we would like to hear more arguments from both the defence and prosecution lawyers regarding mitigating circumstances and so on."
