3 reasons why Narendra Modi decides not to fete birthday

Modi had celebrated his birthday with three-day Sadbhavana fast in 2011 but this year he decided to stay away from any lavish celebration on the day.
Here are four reasons why the Gujarat CM not to celebrate birthday:
- The CM decided to hold several meetings with party leaders and others as Gujarat is expected to hold assembly election in Nov 2012.
- The CM will be engaged in activities during the events of Vivekanand Yuva Vikas Yatra and Vivekanand Yuva Parishad.
- The CM is also expected to inaugurate a national-level mega blood donation drive organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad (ABTYP) at Gujarat University Exhibition Hall.
Sources close to Modi have been quoted as saying, "Nothing special is on the plate apart from his ongoing programmes. He would be visiting his mother, Narmadaben, to seek her blessings on his birthday. After that he is scheduled to inaugurate a mega blood donation drive in Ahmedabad."
"Then, he would go to Rajkot to attend ‘Vivekanand Yuva Parishad' (VYP). After the Rajkot event is over, he will fly to Ambaji in Banaskantha district to lead the BJP's ongoing ‘Vivekanand Yuva Vikas Yatra'," added the sources.
Meanwhile, officials from Rajkot informed that a colourful ceremony has been arranged for the CM when he will visit the city to attend VYP on Monday.
Around 35,000-40,000 young boys and girls along with some renowned sportspersons such as Olympian Gagan Narang, cricketers Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja and former cricketer Navjotsingh Sidhu are likely to attend the event.
