Kejriwal ridicules claim that PM's security was endangered

In an open letter to the PM, Kejriwal pointed out that he and two other IAC members were walking along Race Course Road at 6.30 am on Aug 26 when Delhi Police picked them up for violating Section 144 of Indian Penal Code.
According to Kejriwal, more than five people are not allowed to assemble at a place where Section 144 has been imposed but in this case only three persons including himself were at the spot.
Police accused the trio of endangering the PM's security even though they were merely strolling through the footpath with the tricolour in their hands, Kejriwal rued. He noted that the nation's future is bleak if its prime minister is so weak.
Stating that Congress and BJP jointly allotted coal fields across the country to select companies, Kejriwal referred to allegations about both the parties benefitting financially from the coal blocks allocation.
He said that corrupt Congressmen are let off the hook in BJP-ruled states while Congress governments take no action against any BJP man who is facing graft charges.
Kejriwal wrote about how hundreds of IAC supporters had marched to the residences of the PM, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and BJP president Nitin Gadkari on Aug 26 with a view to apprise the top leaders of the huge scams unearthed recently.
He said that despite the protest being a peaceful one, many of the participants were thrashed and subsequently cases registered against them on charges of rioting.
Kejriwal had earlier tweeted that the statements of IAC members were recorded under Section 161 of the Criminal Procedure Code at the Parliament Street police station.
The protesters did not damage public property or attack the police on Aug 26, he asserted. Though Kejriwal admitted that somebody had deliberately deflated the tyres of police vans on that day, he denied the charge that the IAC members had prevented the police from discharging their duty.
Kejriwal explained that the open letter was meant to make the public aware of the brutality unleashed by the police and the government.
He said that once the British rulers considered freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev as criminals. Now the government is treating anti-corruption activists in the same manner, he added.
