Sonia aims blows against BJP's coalgate attacks in Parl
Speaking at the general body meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Party, Sonia stressed the need to debate on the issue that has stalled Parliament since last 5 days. Unlike the past, Sonia in harsh words took on the BJP and said that they were holding the Parliament to ransom. She has been quoted as saying, "Holding Parliament to ransom and blackmail have become political bread and butter of BJP."
She also added, "BJP is mocking the people of India and don't have any respect for Parliamentary democracy."
Asking party men to unite against the Opposition, the Congress President stated, "We have nothing to be defensive about. Let us fight united and stand up." She also said, "We need to fight the intemperate criticism and negative politics of BJP."
Sonia, in an indirect jibe at the Leader of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj on her 'mota maal remarks', commented, "This is the handiwork of BJP, which shows scant respect for democracy. What more can be said when their senior most leader uses such words."
She also ordered her party MPs to go on the offensive and give a strong response to the BJP which has not allowed Parliament to function since last Tuesday over the coal block allocation issue.
