Metro stations to remain open after revised police advisory

A DMRC spokesman said the stations will remain open throughout the day after Delhi police revised their advisory. Six busy Metro stations in central Delhi were to remain closed for 10 hours today as a precautionary measure following the call by activist Arvind Kejriwal to gherao residences of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and BJP chief Nitin Gadkari.
Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhawan, Patel Chowk, Race Course, Jor Bagh and Khan Market stations falling near and around the residences of Singh and Gadkari were to remain closed from 8 am to 6 pm today. Delhi Metro had taken the decision to close down the stations, five of which fall on the Gurgaon Line, after instructions from Delhi Police.
But after Kejriwal and five others were detained it was decided that the stations were to remain open throughout the day as the police revised their advisory.
