Jayalalithaa slaps defamation suit against Stalin

The complaint was filed in the sessions court by City public prosecutor ML Jagan on behalf of Jayalalithaa. The basis for the complaint being the report that said that the CM was on vacation in Kodanad for months together. The suit stated that the report was fallacious, defamatory and without any basis.
According to the public prosecutor, though the CM was in Kodanad for an extended period, all official and constitutional duties were being continuously discharged by her. He added that she was even discharging her duties on Sundays.
The complaint filed before the principal sessions court has sought to punish the publisher, printer and editor of Murasoli for offences under section 500 and 501 of the IPC and Stalin under section 500 of the IPC.
