Ramdev faces a ban from attending Kumbh mela
The Akhara Parishad, an apex body of seers, was so agitated at Ramdev's move that they have sought a ban on the entry of yoga guru in the Maha Kumbh Mela at Prayag. The matter has irked the body for obvious reasons.
Baba Hathyogi, a spokesman of the Parishad has been quoted as saying, "We are demanding a ban on the entry of Ramdev in Prayag kumbh for showing disrespect to our freedom fighters."
The poster of Acharya Balkrishna was featured along with Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Subhash Chandra Bose and others. The matter had also stirred up a controversy yesterday.
Hathyogi commented that the body had come to a decision to seek a ban on Ramdev at the Kumbh mela after the "disrespect" shown to the freedom fighters. He said, "He (Ramdev) is showing disrespect to our freedom fighters."
The CBI had earlier filed a case against Balkrishna in a case relating to alleged submission of fake and forged documents to obtain an Indian passport and was also arrested.
