Lucknow, Aug 8: With Uttar Pradesh seeing a change in leadership from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) to the Samajwadi Party (SP), the states obsession with building mammoth parks is seeing no end. After former UP CM Mayawati's parks and statues grabbing media limelight, present CM Akhilesh Yadav too seems to be following Maya's path towards building statues and parks.

The matter was confirmed when Akhilesh laid the foundation stone for the proposed Janeshwar Mishra Park at Gomti Nagar in Lucknow. The occasion being the birth anniversary of Mishra.

The proposed park will be spread over more than 300 acres and is expected to be much bigger than anything Mayawati has constructed so far. Among the notable parks built during Maya's tenure are - Ambedkar Park in Lucknow covering 98 acres; the Kanshi Ram Memorial and the Eco Park covering a combined area of 228 acres and the Noida memorial covering 88 acres.

The brand new park from the Akhilesh Yadav government will put Mayawati's magnanimity to shame and will be four times the size of Mayawati's Ambedkar memorial. The Janeshwar Mishra Park will be built in the exact same place where Mayawati had proposed to build Ambedkar Green Garden and will have plantation, public utility services, cycle and walking track and water bodies.

The new park is understood to be a dream project of SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav. The UP govt has not revealed how much the park will cost but has revealed that they will fund it.
