Wet weather predicted for next 6 days in Himachal

Dharamsala, Aug 1: Himachal had a wet last week and the rain is still continuing in all most all areas of the state. Dharamsala remains to be the leader city in terms of heavy rainfall.

According to the meteorological department of the state, Dharamsala recorded 120 mm of rain during the past 24 hours followed by Baijnath-69, Sujanpur Tira-65, Gaggal-63, Dalhousie-53, Palampur-50, Nadaun-43, Nagrota Suriyan-39, Mehre and Jogindernagar-29 each, Nahan-27, Pandoh-25, Nurpur-24, Sangrah-23, Bhoranj-21, Arki-19, Chamba-17, Jubbar Hatti-14, Baldwara-11, Kheri & Baldwara-10 mm each.

Maximum temperatures decreased by 2 to 3°C but there is no appreciable change in Maximum & Minimum temperatures in last 24 hrs. The Lowest temp recorded at Kalpa was 15°C and Highest at Una 32.2°C.

The official of the metrological center in the state stated that Easterly winds are prevailing over the western Himalayan region at lower levels. An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over southwest Punjab and adjoining northwest Rajasthan in lower levels. It is due to this very reason that rain and thundershowers are predicted at most places in Himachal for the next five days.
