Muslim activist killed, Kerala CPM leader Jayarajan arrested
The special police team, who have been investigating the murder case of Shukkoor, arrested the senior CPM leader. The investigative team earlier had sent a notice to Jayarajan asking him to appear before the team at 11 AM on Wednesday for questioning.
The arrested CPM leader was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days by Kannur First class Magistrate.
Jayarajan has been accused of hatching the murder plot of Shukhoor who was killed on Feb 20, the same day his team attacked Jayarajan.
News of violence have been reported following Jayarajan's arrest on Wednesday. Meanwhile, CPI(M) Kerala has called for strike on Thursday.
