Cong to take action against MP for praising Narendra Modi

Vijay Darda on Sunday praised Gujarat Chief Minister

as a tiger and a national saint. Sources said that the Congress was set to take against the Rajya Sabha MP from Maharashtra.

The leader, however, quickly added that his statement was just a mark of respect that he has for Modi. There was no need to make an issue out of it, he said.

The Gujarat CM also hoped that the issue did not turn out into a breaking news in the media. Drawing a parallel with the case of Shahid Siddique of the Samajwadi Party, the senior BJP leader said he hoped that the Congress also did not do the same by seeking Darda's resignation. Siddique was sidelined by his party on Saturday after the former had taken an interview of Modi.
