Unlucky no '13' turns out to be lucky for Pranab

New Delhi, Jul 22: Number 13, considered 'unlucky', has turned out to be lucky for

who was elected as the country's 13th

on Sunday.

Mukherjee was elected to the Lok Sabha for the first time on May 13, 2004. The 76-year-old leader got married on Jul 13, 1957. He has been living at the 13 Talkatora Road residence for several years despite being entitled to a bigger house.

Incidentally, as Leader of the Lok Sabha for eight long years during which he played the chief trouble shooter for the UPA, his office in Parliament was in room 13. Interestingly, '13' also figures in the vote value of 7,13,763 he polled.
