Pranab to be sworn in as President on Jul 25

Minutes after his victory in the Presidential election was confirmed, Pranab thanked all those who had supported him. "I express deep gratitude for electing me to high office," he said.
The President-elect told reporters here today that he will try to justify the people's trust. "I have received much more than I have given," he added.
According to the Returning Officer VK Agnihotri, Pranab received altogether 3095 votes whose total value is 7,13,763 while his main rival PA Sangma secured 1483 votes which add up to a value of 3,15,987.
Sangma has already congratulated Pranab on his election. However, the former Lok Sabha Speaker did not reveal whether his camp will approach the court to challenge Pranab's win.
