Bangalore, Jul 11: Here is the current weather scenario in the country in general and

in particular.

India as on Jul 10: Maximum temperatures were above normal by 2-3°C in isolated parts of Jammu & Kashmir, northwest Rajasthan, Vidarbha, south-central Maharashtra, north interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and Himachal Pradesh. Maximum temperatures were below normal by 2-6°C in some parts of eastern Rajasthan, isolated parts of north-western and eastern Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, south-western Uttar Pradesh and coastal Karnataka. The mercury-level was normal in other parts of India.

Highest maximum temperature: 43.3°C at Jaisalmer in Rajasthan.

Rainfall (till 8.30 pm on Jul 11): Mount ­Abu - ­31 cm, Idar - ­23 cm, Cherrapunji­- 15 cm, Erinpura and Udaipur ­- 19 cm, Coochbehar and Pasighat­ - 11 cm, Banswara - 10 cm, Gopalpur ­- 9 cm, Deesa and Shirali - ­8 cm, Tirupathi, Chittorgarh and Patiala - ­7 cm, Purnea - ­6 cm, Mangalore, Buldana, Pondicherry, Alapuzha, Bulsar and Ratlam -­5 cm and Kavali, Honavar, Cochin and Itanagar - ­4 cm.

Weather forecast up to 8.30 am on Jul 14:
1. Heavy rainfall would occur in east Rajasthan, Gujarat, sub­-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.
2. Rain/thundershowers would occur at many places in the western coast, eastern and north-eastern India, Gujarat and east Rajasthan.
3. Rain/thundershowers would occur at few places in central and other parts of north-western India, interior Karnataka, Andhra.
4. Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and UP would see rainfall at few places.

Rainfall and thundershowers would occur at most places in coastal Karnataka, south interior Karnataka and at a few places in north interior Karnataka.
Strong onshore winds from Westerly direction with occasional speed of 45-55 kmph are likely along and off Karnataka coast in the next 24 hours.
