India as on Jul 10: Maximum temperatures were above normal by 2-3°C in isolated parts of Jammu & Kashmir, northwest Rajasthan, Vidarbha, south-central Maharashtra, north interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and Himachal Pradesh. Maximum temperatures were below normal by 2-6°C in some parts of eastern Rajasthan, isolated parts of north-western and eastern Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, south-western Uttar Pradesh and coastal Karnataka. The mercury-level was normal in other parts of India.
Highest maximum temperature: 43.3°C at Jaisalmer in Rajasthan.

1. Heavy rainfall would occur in east Rajasthan, Gujarat, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.
2. Rain/thundershowers would occur at many places in the western coast, eastern and north-eastern India, Gujarat and east Rajasthan.
