Rushdie's fatwa turns into video game to educate youth

The game, named 'Stressful Life of Salman Rushdie and Implementation of his Verdict', will be turned into a video game by the Islamic Association of Students, a government-sponsored organisation in Iran.
The announcement was made by the organisation this week, which said that it had completed the initial phases of production.
According to reports, three years ago, Iran's National Foundation of Computer Games and the student association had asked students across the country to come up with their scripts for the game following which top three scripts were handed over to video developers.
A fatwa was issued against writer Salman Rushdie by Ayatollah Khomeini over his controversial book-Satanic Versus that hurt the Muslim sentiments.
Reports reveal the game will carry forward Khomeini's command to assassinate Rushdie.
"We usually don't have any problems with initial thoughts and ideas [for a computer game] but when it comes to the actual point of production, we experience delays," said director of the students association, Ahmad Khalili.
