Elephant tusk back to haunt actor Mohanlal

The valid documents related to the case was filed by the Kodanad forest office, under which the Kochi town falls mentioning the offence. The same was filed with the Perumbavoor Judicial Magistrate on Thursday.
The actor had violated the Wildlife Protection Act 1972 and was named accused along with 2 others in the case. The case was registered by the forest department.
July 2011 saw raids being carried out at the residences of two Malayalam superstars, Mammootty and Mohanlal creating quite a buzz in Kerala. Apart from their houses in various cities, the premises of their business interests were also raided.
Mohanlal's friend and former colleague KB Ganesh Kumar, who is the present Forest Minister, ruled out any inquiry into the elephant tusk found in the actor's residence.
