AP by-poll results: Jailed Jagan to topple Cong regime?

The results are a big blow to the Kiran Kumar Reddy-led government in Andhra Pradesh. Thanks to his massive win, Jagan has a better chance now of toppling the Congress regime though this might be shocking news for Sonia Gandhi who is currently busy devising foolproof strategies for the presidential election.
The ruling party currently has 152 MLAs in the House of 294 but the landslide victory of Jagan in the by-polls poses a threat not only for Kiran Kumar but also Sonia's dream of winning a majority of LS seats from Andhra Pradesh in the next general elections.
Earlier media reports claimed that Congress might join hands with Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to avert the threat from Jagan. Of late, the UPA government at the Centre has been facing problems over several issues and Congress can ill afford to lose power in AP.
Till 12:40 pm, YSR Congress party bagged 13 out of 14 seats. Meanwhile, sources informed that Jagan's mother, sister, brother-in-law and wife have gone to the Chanchalguda prison to meet Jagan and to celebrate their victory.
