Jagan threatens to fast unto death if demands not met

With the day coinciding with the stipulated day for winding up election campaign for the upcoming Andhra bypolls, this comes as a huge setback for both YSR Congress and its leader Jagan. With the bypolls slated to be held on Tuesday, the latest announcement from the court is sure to dent hopes for party supporters. Jagan's mother, YS Vijayamma was spearheading the campaign in his absence after he was arrested on May 27. She is also understood to have written to the Prime Minister seeking an intervention in the probe.
Meanwhile, in a dramatic turn of events, Jagan has threatened to go on a fast unto death if his demands are not met that includes enhanced security during trial.
The CBI is currently probing into the Vodarevu and Nizampatnam Port and Industrial Corridor (Vanpic) project. There were earlier reports that Jagan was not cooperating with the project and had not revealed much during the course of intense questioning. Many ministers and high profile have been questioned and arrested in the murky scam.
