. She also took to the streets recently to protest the hike by the UPA government, of which her own party, the Trinamool Congress, is a key constituent.

"The petrol price hike has to be rolled back completely. I have protested (against petrol price hike) on the streets. Which other Chief Minister has taken to the streets? I have the guts. I believe in fighting. We have to take this fight to New Delhi," Banerjee told a programme here in the South 24-Parganas district. She had expressed strong displeasure against the 'unilateral and unjust decision' by the Centre and said the hike was unacceptable.

The Trinamool Congress is the second largest ally in the UPA government.
