Jagan alleges CBI witch-hunt as AP Min arrested in DA case
Venkataramana was the Investment and Ports & Infrastructure minister when Jagan's father, YS Rajasekhara Reddy was the CM. He was named one of the accused in the assets case.
Speaking to media, Jagan has been quoted as saying, “Why is the CBI acting in such haste? This is a conspiracy to arrest me.” He alleges that the CBI is acting on orders from certain parties to penalise him in the disproportionate assets case.
Jagan in the interview also claimed that the Andhra Pradesh government is trying hard to make sure that the by-polls are delayed. He stated, “I was anyways supposed to appear before the CBI court on May 28. The day I shot a letter to the Prime Minister, the same night CBI summoned me to appear on May 25. The intention is to create a law and order situation so that the by-polls are postponed.”
Determined to carry out his movement, Jagan said that his mother will continue with the campaign if he is arrested. Jagan added, “Getting any feelers from the Congress is a far cry right now. I have not been approached by any Congress leader. If I am arrested, my mother will take up the campaign.”
He also commented, “We will win the polls. And that's what the Congress fears.”
