B'lore: Kerala techie found dead in brutal circumstances
The victim has been identified as Sriraj, son of EC Subramanian, and his body was found in his brand new Volkswagen polo car near Mahadevapura in Bangalore. According to police, “The assailants initially gagged the deceased by taping his mouth with cellophane tape. They used the same tape to immobile him as well. They then covered his face with a polythene bag and suffocated him to death.”
Sriraj, a resident of AECS Layout, Mahadevpura, was an employee of Hewlett Packard on ITPL road. He had joined HP recently. Before this, he was working with IBM for four years. He was living in a rented accommodation and had moved to this new place (Mahadevpura) six months ago.
According to Sriraj’s cousin, Shayne, “On Monday evening, at around 7:30 pm, Sriraj came to our house for dinner. He stayed with us for a few hours and then left for his place on his Yamaha bike shortly after midnight. After that, we have no idea as to what had happened.”
His roommate also ruled out any foul play and stated, “Sriraj and I were awake till 1:30 am. Later, I went to bed and woke up around 10:30 am but could not find him in the house. It was only when a few passersby informed me that I got to know about the incident.”
It was passersby who found the car under suspicious circumstances and on close inspection found Sriraj’s body in the back seat of the car. His head was covered in a polythene bag that was bound with duct tape. The Police rushed to the spot with a dog squad after being alerted.
There are reports that Sriraj was in a relationship with a girl since last two months.
Meanwhile, his parents have not been informed of the tragedy as both of them are heart patients.
