Nepal plane crash: Child actor Taruni Sachdev cremated

crash victim and child artist Taruni Sachdev's last rites were performed on Wednesday in Mumbai.

Her body along with her mother's was brought by a cargo to Mumbai from Kathmandu at 3 pm on Wednesday. The funeral was held at the Santa Cruz (West) cremation ground at 5.30 pm. Her mother was also cremated at the same time, said reports.

"Woh bhagwan ki beti thi, bhagwan ke paas chali gayi (She was god's daughter, she has gone to god)," said Taruni's father.

"Apni maa ke saath teerth yatra par gayi thi aur yeh sab ho gaya (She had gone on a pilgrimage with her mother). We are still in state of shock," said her uncle.

Taruni Sachdev was among the 15 killed in the plane crash that took place at the Jomsom Airport in Mustang district of Nepal, while it was trying to land on Monday.

Taruni's mother, who was accompanying the 14-year-old, also died in the plane crash.

The actor had made an appearance in Amitabh Bachchan-starrer 'Paa' and has featured in more than 50 commercials.

Thirteen Indians were among the 15 killed in the Nepal plane crash. The plane carrying 21 people onboard crashed into the mountainous northern region of Nepal at 9:45 AM (NPT).

The Agni Air Dornier Do 228 light passenger aircraft was flying from Pokhara to Jomsom, when it crash landed at the mountain strip in Nepal.
