Jayalalithaa cutouts appear in dailies to mark first anniv

on her successful one year in the Chief Minister’s chair was not good enough, she has also taken national dailies in the country by storm by having full page advertisements to mark her first anniversary as the CM of Tamil Nadu. The ads are aptly titled 'One year of achievements-Hundred years leap forward'.

The jacket ads across major newspapers has a huge cut-out type of image of Jayalalithaa in the front page. The ads also feature a list of all her achievements as CM in the rest of the three pages.

The ad also shows a message to people by Jayalalithaa that reads, "The vision for Tamil Nadu for 2023 is to become India's most prosperous and progressive state with no poverty and where its people enjoy all the basic services of a modern society".

The highlights of the ad that features her poll sops are the free rice for the financially challenged, gold for women of marriageable age and other financial assistance, mixers and grinders for women, distribution of milch cows and goats for the poor, laptop for students, green house and the CM’s health insurance scheme. All the listed things were part of Jayalalithaa’s poll promises.

As per reports from sources, the ads were placed by the Tamil Nadu government through the Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR). The budget for the ads is understood to be Rs 25 crore with the published ads in the newspaper today costing close to Rs 15 crore.

The day saw such advertisements across most newspapers in Tamil Nadu including their national editions. The ads, however, did not find place in the media channels owned by DMK and its family members.
