Yeddyurappa was still reeling under the Supreme Court's decision of ordering a CBI probe against him in the mining case that caused a huge dent in the country's exchequer. The FIR filed by the CBI include those against his 2 sons and his son-in-law.

The Apex Court in its order last week had mentioned the "serious illegalities" in mining activities in which he allegedly "misused his public office" for illegal gains by unfairly extending favours to certain companies in which he had vested interests.
