Tamil Nadu Map
Chennai, May 12: Tamil Nadu Labour Minister ST Chellapandian lightened up the state assembly discussions on May 11 with famous MGR numbers, much to the delight of many including the Speaker and even prompting a CPI(M) member to demand an encore.

The Minister started his reply relating to his ministry after Chief Minister Jayalalithaa left the House to attend the 76th Odisha Dibas function with her Odisha counterpart Naveen Patnaik.

Almost all the members were smiling, as the Minister sang a couple of famous MGR songs to send his point across effectively. When CPI(M) member Bala Bharathi questioned whether it was a singing session that was on, the Minister said his reply was a mix of songs and main points relating his department.

Speaker Jayakumar too defended the Minister in a lighter vein saying, "Are you not impressed by his sweet voice?" He asked the Minister to sing the next two sentences in a particular MGR song.

At the end of his speech, a much amused CPI(M) member R Annadurai said: "Once more, please!" which sent the members into peals of laughter. Chellapandian sang over 15 songs during his reply.
