Mullaperiyar Dam: Kerala CM confuses Tamil Nadu, others

While speaking to press on Wednesday, May 9 the CM stated that his government would continue to pursue the case demanding new dam in future proceedings in the apex court.
The CM also said that Kerala got the nod from the panel to re-build Mullaperiyar dam, even if with strings attached.
Contradicting to the CM's statement, the panel report claimed that the dam is safe and Kerala government has been asked to reconsider its proposal to reconstruct the dam.
Meanwhile, the nominee of Kerala on the panel - Justice Thomas said, "Those who are finding fault with the report are doing so without understanding its contents fully. In a matter like this emotion should not get precedence over reason."
