Freed IAS officer Alex Menon reaches home
The abducted officer was freed from Maoists captivity on Thursday and stayed back at the CRPF paramilitary base in the Chintalnar area.
"As per the agreement we will follow whatever was said. We have put up the document on the government website and we will not do anything beyond or less than what is promised in that," said Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh after Alex Menon's release.
He further said that a committee to look into the matter has been formed and the government will release people who are wrongfully facing criminal persecution for being a party with the Maoists.
"How many ever jailed persons are there in connection with Maoists who have been wrongly arrested will be examined and their release will be recommended by the committee. They will work till the process is completed," said Singh.
