Rajiv Gandhi case: Convicts' pleas transferred to SC

The three convicts of Rajiv Gandhi assassination case- Santhan, Murugan and Perarivalan had filed writ petitions in Madras court, challenging the rejection of their petition by President Pratibha Patil. She rejected their petitions in Aug 2011, which was filed 11 years ago. In that petition, the convicts asked for their sentence to be changed to life in prison as they are facing death sentence.
