No SEZ status to Wipro, Infosys, Mamata wants all benefits

"Our policy is that the government is not in favour of giving SEZ status to IT firms. But since IT companies are different from those in other sectors, we want 100 per cent concession. We are telling this to the Centre," said Mamata Banerjee.
"Before the assembly elections last year, our stand was that of opposing SEZs. Now after the elections, we cannot change our stand. "We want both Infosys and Wipro to come and expand their operations in the state," she said.
"We are also against forcible acquisition of land as well," said the Chief Minister.
Both Infosys and Wipro have acquired land in West Bengal for setting up their units.
