Congress shortlists names of new Governors
On Friday, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh along with Party President Sonia Gandhi met amid speculationd that a number of states in the country would see changes of Governors.
The others in the meeting included Home Minister P Chidambaram, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, External Affairs Minister SM Krishna and Ahmed Patel, Sonia Gandhi.
While the post of Governor is lying vacant in Kerala and Rajasthan, the tenures of Governors in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Uttar Pradesh and New Delhi are coming to an end.
