New Delhi, Apr 25: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLA Jhina Hikaka is likely to be released on Thursday, Apr 26, at 10 am, from Maoist custody in Koraput, Orissa. Hikaka was abducted by Maoists on Mar 24. He will be released on grounds of assurance that he should resign from his post if the state government fails to meet naxal's demands.

Meanwhile, the decision was taken in people's court. Earlier, it was speculated that people's court would be held in Narayanpatna area of Koraput district, but due to road blockades, the area remained cut off since last Friday, Apr 20.

According to rebel's lawyer, Hikaka will be handed over to his wife, Kaushalya.
