Abdul Kalam to wear President's crown again?

New Delhi, Apr 23: With the upcoming presidential polls, Former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam's name is getting maximum leverage for the nominees.

Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party, J Jayalalithaa's AIADMK and Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress may support Kalam for the upcoming Presidential polls.

NCP leader Sharad Pawar told reporters that he wants a non-political person to become the next president of India. "In my opinion, a non-political person would be the ideal choice as the next president," he added.

Meanwhile, there was speculation that the NCP was going to field former Lok Sabha Speaker PA Sangma as its presidential candidate. However, Pawar made it clear that the party had no such plans.
