Collector Abducted: C'garh police yet to find any trace

Chhattisgarh
New Delhi, Apr 22: A massive search operation has been launched by the Chhattisgarh government for the abduction of Sukma district collector Alex Paul Menon. He was abducted by the Maoists on Saturday, Apr 21.

The Centre has also given the assurance that it will help the state government in searching the officer.

On Saturday afternoon, Maoists killed the officer's two security guards and then abducted him from Majhipara village in Keralapal area of the Naxal-infested district.

Meanwhile, the Collector's kin has appealed to Maoists to release her husband on the humanitarian grounds.

"My husband is unwell and not carrying medicines. He is an asthmatic patient. If some emergency situation arises, he will not be able to handle. I would request the Naxals to release my husband as he has worked for district's development," Alex's wife said.
