Subramanian Swamy hurls deadly 2G bomb on Chidambaram in SC
Mr Swamy in the apex court on Friday, Apr 20 claimed that Chidambaram had given his nod for the allocation of extra spectrum to service providers even before they had fulfilled their roll out obligations.
The court was headed by Justice GS Singhvi and Justice KS Radhakrishnan. Mr Swamy asserted that his recent allegations against the then Finance Minister (PC) are enough for the court to proceed against Chidambaram as under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Swamy cited that Chidambaram was as much a part of the scam and that a CBI probe should be initiated against him and he be made an accused in the case.
A Delhi court had cleared Chidambaram’s name in the multi-crore 2G spectrum allocation scam and stated that he will not be investigated or be made co-accused in the case.
The Supreme Court had earlier cancelled 122 2G spectrum licences that was allotted by former and 2G tainted Telecom Minister A Raja during his tenure in 2008. The matter had brought much shame to the UPA government.
