'Dirty' CD row: Abhishek Singhvi lashes at networking sites

Irked by the media’s move, Singhvi lashed out at social networking websites over the CD controversy and accused them of using the CD for the sake of sensationalism. He said, "This can happen to anyone and if this lawlessness is allowed to continue as it is, we all will be consumed shortly."
Slamming the social media site’s move to show the images, Singhvi reminded all that there was a court injunction on the issue. The author of the allegedly fabricated CD had also sworn in an affidavit that the CD was indeed fabricated.
Singhvi added, "An organised gang has been purposely used by motivated interests to use the social sites for sensationalism and permanent damage."
The insulting piece of news had weighed down heavily on the Congress leader, with his name removed from the press conference roster of the Congress party. Singhvi, however, claimed that he was de-rostered as he was unwell.
Singhvi had obtained an injunction from the Delhi High Court against the broadcast of the CD. His former driver had confessed that he was behind the dissemination of the controversial CD.
